AFC Wimbledon today announced the loan signing of Danny Blanchett, from Peterborough United. The left sided defender is seemingly viewed as a direct replacement for the departed Chris Hussey, and has signed on loan for the remainder of the season.

Aged 21 years and standing at six feet tall, Blanchett's career so far has taken in Northwood and QPR at youth level, then Hendon, Harrow (his local club) and Cambridge City before ending up at Peterborough. Most recently he has been loaned out to Stevenage Borough, and Hereford Utd. He has chalked up two goals overall, and rose to wider attention when he was a triallist with Liverpool.

Low points in Blanchett's career consist of a bad heel injury, and having played against Milton Keynes.

Dons fans will look for signs that Terry Brown has found the answer to the key left back deficiency, and this signing tends to suggest that Derek Duncan's days at the club could be numbered.
