AFCW 1-2 Kettering Town

By Loving The Consolidation
Last updated : 30 October 2009
AFC Wimbledon slipped to a second consecutive home league defeat against Kettering, who avenged the Dons hard fought 2-1 victory in Northants earlier in the season.

Greg Taylor opened the scoring for the Poppies and Danny Thomas managed to double their lead after twenty minutes of play after capitalising on errors in the Dons midfield. Wimbledon countered with the back in form Jon Main heading in from a Kedwell assist, moments later.

Chances went begging for both teams, with Green the utmost culprit for the away team, and Wellard showing his inexperience when well placed for the Dons.

With the departure of Chris Hussey to Coventry, the Dons now need to decide whether consolidation is the order of the day or if there is still enough depth in the squad to moubt a real challenge. On the face of the last two results, they are far from out of touch with the contenders, but require something, or somebody extra to maintain a solid place amongst the elite in this division.
